Miss BobbieLynn Sears will be leading the Jr horsemen for the 2010-2011 session. We are all looking forward to having a lot of fun and learning along the way. The Williston Jr Horsemen meet twice monthly on the second and fourth Tuesdays September through May at 6:30 pm.  The children enjoy riding their horses together and learning from guest speakers. They also take part in many of the local parades. All youth must be part of a family WHA membership and also join the Jr club to participate.

Rules

Williston JR. Horseman's Rules (WjHA)

 

  1. All juniors MUST be accompanied by a supervising adult, parent or guardian at each meeting/event.
  2. All juniors MUST wear an approved horseback riding helmet and boots.
  3. All juniors must show courtesy and respect to each other and adults at all activities and meetings.
  4. All juniors are expected to show up timely for meetings and events and stay for the entire program as scheduled.
  5. All juniors must be recorded current members of WHA to participate with WHjA and abide by both sets of rules.
  6. Each parent/guardian is required to participate in at least one meeting per season.
  7. Each parent/guardian of an elected officer of Junior’s Assn is equally responsible for the office their child holds.
  8. All juniors are expected to be in the pavilion/arena during meetings night.
  9. All WHjA members are required to serve 4 hours of volunteer service to the WHA seasonally.
  10. Violation of any of the above rules will result in: 1.Warning 2.Suspension 3.Eviction from the WHjA.

 

WHjA Dress Code

 

  1. No tank/halter type tops which reveal cleavage or under garments shall be worn.
  2. No pants/shorts/bottom dress which has a waist line below the top of the hip joint nor reveals any back or bottom/buttocks skin or anatomy shall be worn.
  3. No garments may be worn which are see-through and/or torn in any manner which reveals inappropriate body skin shall be worn.
  4. No exposure of the mid-driff / belly button area by nature of too short a top nor bottoms that are too low, shall be worn.
  5. Always wear proper heeled riding boots and approved safety helmet while mounted.



Duties of the WHjA Officers

 President – Call to order and conduct one sit down meeting of the club per month.  Organize the direction of the club and its members.  Direct all other officers of the club and conduct new/old business.

 Vice-President – All above presidential duties in the absence of the President. Assists the President in carrying out those duties.

 Secretary – Log all events the club conducts / participates in throughout the season into a journal.  Take notes into the journal as minutes for each meeting.

 Membership Secretary – Responsible for all attendance records at every meeting.  Responsible for tacking volunteer status of Jr. members and participation log for parents of the juniors. Responsible for recording through treasurer members dues.

 Treasurer -  Responsible for tracking all monies received or spent by the WHjA through dues, donations, events, trips, etc.

 Historian -  Document the events of the WHjA throughout the season by composing both written and photographic scrap book.  Forward material periodically to the club website and the local newspaper.

 Chaplin – Lead the members in pledge and prayer at each event.

 Duties of the Parents of the WHjA Officers

 

President – Be sure your child is able to attend all functions and monthly meetings.  Stand with the child and assist them in conducting meetings.

Vice-President – Be sure your child is able to attend all functions and monthly meetings.  Sit with your child at the officers table and guide them to keep contact with the president between meetings.

Secretary - Be sure your child is able to attend all functions and monthly meetings.  Sit with your child and help them practice good skill and legible note taking for the log book. Encourage them to have notes typed for next meeting and keep a current notebook throughout the season.  Make contact with the local paper to post events both present and future.

Membership Secretary – Be sure your child is able to attend all functions and monthly meetings.  Help them take roll call twice monthly at meetings and during events.  Help to establish and record a list of current members with contact information.  Make a list available at all times for purpose of call out or passing out information due to weather or events.  Help child to establish marketing strategies to enlist more members.  Track parent and child volunteer work and participation. 

Treasurer – Be sure your child is able to attend all functions and monthly meetings.  Be sure your child is at the skill level to record finances of the club.  Be sure your child is ready to present a treasurers report at each meeting.  Track and balance all monies in and out of the junior funds.  Be able to contact WHA treasurer during season to appropriate funds for WHjA activities as they are needed.

Historian - Be sure your child is able to attend all functions and monthly meetings.  Parent must provide child with a photo album and camera and developing process for recording WHjA events.  Communicate with Secretary and newspaper to publish photos of events bi-monthly and as needed for marketing purposes.

Chaplin - Be sure your child is able to attend all functions and monthly meetings.  Stand up and help the child speak to groups with an audible voice and confidence when called up to speak.
