Western arena start’s at 8:30 a.m. on the 3rd Saturday of September, October, November, January, February, March, and April. 

CLASS FEES: Members $7.00, Non-Members $8.00, Office Fee $5.00 each Horse, Grounds Fee for all Horses $5.00 each.  Stalls are available $10.00 each, must be reserved in advance.

WESTERN ARENA DAY OF SHOW AND YEAR-END DIVISION AWARDS

Halter Division:                                                      Class #1 with a combination of one of class 3 thru 7.

Walk Division: (10 and Under)                           Class numbers 10, 21, 22 and 53 (Must show in minimum of 3)

W/T Western (13 & Under)                                 Class numbers 11, 25, 33, 41 and 54 (Must show in minimum of 4).

W/T Western (14 Thru 18)                                  Class numbers 12, 26, 34, 42, and 55 (Must show in minimum of 4).

W/T Western (19 & Over)                                   Class numbers 13, 27, 35, 43, and 56 (Must show in minimum of 4).

Select 45 W/T Western (45 & Over)                 Class numbers 14, 28, 36, 44, and 57(Must show in minimum of 4).

Western (13&under)                                            Class numbers 15, 29, 37, 45 and 58 (Must show in minimum of 4).

Western (14 Thru 18)                                           Class numbers 16, 30, 38, 46, and 59 (Must show in minimum of 4).

Western (19 & Over)                                            Class numbers 17, 31, 39, 47, and 60 (Must show in minimum of 4).

Select 45 Western (45 & Over)                          Class numbers 18, 32, 40, 48, and 61 (Must show in minimum of 4).

Overall Ring A Highpoint                      Award to the same horse and rider combination with the most points who qualifies in                                                                    both the Western Lope Division and all three Hunter Under Saddle Classes (# 50, 51 and 52).

 

Rules & Regulations

1)  Negative Coggins Required (No Exceptions).

2)  All ages are calculated as of September 2009.

3)  No Alcoholic Beverages/Illegal Drugs permitted on W.H.A. grounds.

4)  A grounds fee of $5.00 per horse per day is charged at time of entry.  Office Fee of $5.00 per horse per day at time of entry.

5)  Year-end award competitors must show in 5 out of 7 shows in a series, and qualify in their division at each of those shows. 

6)  Must be same horse and rider combination.  All points will be calculated by number of horses entered through 6th place.

7)  Each division must have a MINIMUM of 2 qualified entries per show to qualify for a Daily highpoint award otherwise division will only qualify for a Year-end award.  Year-end awards based on number of entries in the division.

8)  A participant must be a W.H.A. Member to qualify for division awards. Points start at the time of membership.

9)  If a horse is injured during the series, the owner must present a vet waiver in order to substitute another horse until the original horse is healed.  The Pleasure Committee reserves the right to contact the treating Veterinarian to verify condition.

10)  Division ties will be decided in Halter by Grooming and Conditioning,  in Western Riding divisions by Horsemanship classes.

11)  All Divisions have a minimum number of classes required to qualify for that division.  The more classes you participate in for that division the more points you accrue for the division.

12)  All judges’ decisions are final and show volunteers are not answerable for judges’ decisions.

13)  A class must have at least 2 entries to run except Lead-Line.  The show committee reserves the right to cancel/combine/sub any class or division.

14)  Day of Show Highpoints are not calculated the day of the show.  You may check the Bulletin Board on our web site a few days after the show for the Daily Highpoint winners.  Winners may pick up their awards and ribbons at the next scheduled show.

15)  The rider, Not the owner, of the horse must be a member to get member entry fee.

16)  Lead Line riders may not enter any other riding classes.

17)  Walk riders may not enter any other riding classes, except Schooling Walk/Trot.

18)  Walk/Trot horse and rider combinations may not enter Walk or Walk/Trot/Canter classes, except Schooling.

19)  Select 45 Riders – These classes are only open to riders age 45 and over.  Rules 18 & 20 still apply to these riders.

20)  Walk/Jog/Lope horse and rider combinations may not enter Walk/Trot classes, except Schooling.

21)  We suggest protected head gear for all children under the age of 18 regardless of seat.

22)  Western Ring follows AQHA rules and Proper tack and dress are required.

23)  A maximum of 5 minutes will be allowed for tack changes.

24)  Training Equipment is allowed in schooling classes only, and at the judge’s discretion.

25)  Judges will provide patterns.

26)  Horses that kick must wear a red ribbon in their tail.

27)  Adults 19 and over only may exhibit stallions.

28)  All dogs must be on a leash and supervised.

29)  All exhibitor numbers must be approved by show office.

30)  Any person exhibiting abusive treatment of animals or other individuals or the excessive use of Profanities on the grounds will be asked to leave the show grounds regardless of status in the competition and without refund!!
